Stop the Elephant in a Bubble Stunt - Contact the Science Center

STOP THE ELEPHANT IN A BUBBLE STUNT ON TUESDAY 3/18!

CONTACT THE DISCOVERY SCIENCE CENTER IN SANTA ANA!

This Tuesday, March 18th, the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana will feature a bubble artist who plans to put Tai, an endangered Asian elephant, into a giant bubble. The bubble artist is attempting to set a world record for the largest living land mammal in a bubble.

According to the Discovery Science Center website, the Center "is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating young minds, assisting teachers and increasing public understanding of science, math and technology through interactive exhibits and programs".

Tai is the same elephant who was used in a controversial art show in L.A. in 2006. Her entire body was painted to match a wallpaper background. Tai is part of "Have Trunk Will Travel" - a California based business that exploits elephants for profit and uses training methods that include negative reinforcement, physical punishment and the use of the bullhook.

PLEASE CONTACT the Discovery Science Center and tell them that exploiting an elephant (a critically endangered species) is not an appropriate way to teach children. Kids, adults and the elephant deserve better! Call and/or email, info below.
