Finally... a license plate for pet lovers!

You can help protect dogs & cats every time you drive with the new California Pet Lover's License Plate! The California Pet Lover's License plate, sponsored by the California Veterinary Medical Board, provides an easy way for pet lovers to help reduce pet overpopulation. Proceeds from the plate provide funding for free or low-cost spay & neuter surgeries across California, and also help to raise awareness about the importance of spaying and neutering.

The plate declares "Spay & Neuter Saves Lives" and features artwork by actor Pierce Brosnan.

Unfortunately, over 1 million dogs and cats enter California's shelters each year, and over half of them are euthanized (killed) simply because there are not enough homes. The simplest act a pet owner can take to reduce pet overpopulation is to spay or neuter their pet.

The California Pet Lover's License Plate will provide a large scale, permanent funding source for spay & neuter programs. These free and low-cost programs are desperately needed to help address the unnecessary killing of so many dogs and cats in California.
