MARTIN CREEK KENNELS' DOGS AND CATS NOW NEED YOUR HELP!!!
As you know, Last Chance for Animals (LCA) has been investigating Class B Dealers in the southern and central states who sell animals to medical research facilities, and their connection to pet theft. This investigation has lead to the biggest bust for any animal issue in U.S. history, and now the most notorious Class B Dealer, C.C. Baird from Arkansas, is awaiting his indictment. LCA is also responsible for the conviction of another very large Class B dealer, Irvin Stebane, from Wisconsin. Over 5,000 dogs and cats were sold each year for experiments from his farm. Most were someone's stolen companion animal. We have successfully put three other dealers in state prison and two in federal prison for crimes against animals.
Thanks to rescue organizations like yours, 125 dogs and one cat were rescued and adopted as a result of our investigation into C.C. Baird's business. But hundreds more are still remaining in Baird's control at his facility, Martin Creek Kennels, and will remain there in horrible living conditions, suffering from abuse and neglect, until an indictment is executed.
Groups like yours and LCA have undertaken a unified effort to put an end to the abuse, neglect, and theft of companion animals, and we will not stop until all pet thieves and their accomplices are out of business and have paid the penalty of their crimes. We have a bill in Congress now called the "Pet Safety and Protection Act" that will finally outlaw all Class B dealers. We are looking for all the organizations and individuals to come together under one banner to put this bill through. We have nearly reached our goal and will soon see an end to this "organized crime" against our companion animals. Be a part of this victory and help make it happen in 2004!

These cases take a long time to complete and sometimes longer to get convictions and change laws.
