STOP ELEPHANT RIDES AT THE LA COUNTY FAIR!
URGE JAMES HENWOOD, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF THE LA COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION, TO CANCEL ELEPHANT RIDES AT THE LA COUNTY FAIR!
The Los Angeles county fair association plans to offer elephant rides provided by known animal abusers Have Trunk Will Travel (HTWT) at the upcoming county fair September 2 - October 3rd. Animal Defenders International released video footage showing trainers from HTWT hitting the elephants repeatedly with sharp metal tipped bullhooks and shocking them with electric prods. The handlers from HTWT use cruelty and intimidation to control the elephants who are used for rides.
SEND AN EMAIL TO JAMES HENWOOD, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF THE LA COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION, DEMANDING THEY DO THEY RIGHT THING AND CANCEL THE ELEPHANT RIDES!
President and CEO
LA County Fair Association
Dear Mr. Henwood,
I was horrified to learn that the LA county fair will be hosting elephant rides. The elephants your using, provided by Have Trunk Will Travel (HTWT), are subject to abusive training methods and cruel punishment when they do not obey. I urge you to cancel the elephant rides before the fair starts.
Video was released showing the handlers at HTWT beating elephants with sharp metal tipped bullhooks and shocking them with electric prods. They use beatings and intimidation to make these animals perform unnatural acts.
You have the opportunity to choose kindness over cruelty. Please do the right thing and cancel the elephant rides immediately and show that the LA county fair does not support animal abuse.
